Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with 2–5 years of accounting experience and proven team-management skills to lead and structure our accounting function, supervise accounting activities across several client companies, and build a strong accounting team around them.
The role requires someone who can combine solid accounting expertise with leadership, organization, coaching, and the ability to establish efficient processes and ensure high-quality results
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting activities of multiple client companies
- Organize and supervise bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and closing activities
- Ensure accounting work is accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Establish and improve accounting procedures, controls, and working methods
- Review the quality of work produced by the accounting team
- Build, organize, and manage a high-performing accounting team
- Assign tasks and responsibilities according to priorities and workload
- Train, coach, and support team members in developing their accounting skills
- Monitor accounting, operational, and management KPIs
- Ensure agreed targets, deadlines, and service standards are achieved
- Identify accounting issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain strong communication with clients regarding their accounting activities
- Prepare and present regular management reports on performance, risks, and challenges
- Support management in improving the efficiency and quality of the accounting department
Must Have
- 2–5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software
- Autonomous, responsible, and proactive
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- CPA certification is required, demonstrating strong professional accounting knowledge and standards.
